Chixi town lies in the southeast of Taishan city ,covering the area of 238.2 square kilometres.The coastline is 76.6 kilometers long.The total population is 33,100,and there are 35,000 countrymen residing abroad.18 village committees and two neighbourhood committees are governed.
    The town is abundant in natural resources.The area of cultivated land and mountainous region is 35,100 mu and 260,000 mu ,respectively.The granite and porcelain clay enrich .There are 4 reservoirs with total 27,050,000 cubic metres storage.
It has developed 24,000 mu sea area for aquaculture , and aquatic products such as fresh oyster ,shrimp and crab havethe latent development.
   The infrastructure is superior at present .Xintai expressway is converging with the Guangdong West coastal expressway inside the town, and it is only 2 hours' drive to Guangzhou and Zhuhai city .The optical fiber cable is connected to each village of the town.There is the Yutang power station for 110 kilovolts.
  At present,with the establishment of the industry park ,the enterprises of the town have absorbed more and more foreign capitals ,overseas Chinese funds and nongovernmental fund.
