Haiyan town is located in the southwest of Taishan city and to the Chuan Island .The coastline is 40 kilometers long.The total area of the whole town is 253 square kilometres,of which the cultivated land is 62,000 mu. There are 39 village committees and 2 neighbourhood committees.The total population is more than 80,000 , while 70,000 people sojourn in the country of more than 40 nations and districts.
  The infrastructure has been built perfectly .The town takes on a new look nowadays .The Guangdong West Coastal Expressway goes through the town from east to west.There are two gateways of the expressway .It's only 80 minutes' drive to Guangzhou city. There is a substation for 110KV.The mobile communication signal covers completely ,ADSL is inside the town.At present ,the industrial form has taken the shape with textile, chemical industry , clothing and electronics as its pillar industries .The products of spinning and weaving, clothing ,sponge products, silk cotton and automobile chairs are sold to such nation and districts as Hongkong, Macau, Taiwan, U.S.A and Japan.
   This town possesses the rich natural resources and fertile.It is one of the major grain producing areas in Taishan city ,and also the famous bases of sea-water aquiculture and vegetables production.The native products such as fish,shrimp,crab ,lotus root,garlic ,cool melon and litchi etc are renowned at home and abroad .
  The government strengthens the adjustment of agriculture productive structure.There are 14,000 mu flowers, 5000 mvegetable crops and 20,000 mu fruits.The aquaculture area is more than 31,000 mu .
